One of the most challenging lessons in Hollywood is learning when to abandon a project that you believed had the potential to become something extraordinary.

This particular project was one of those instances. The material presented here was sourced from YouTube, as nothing from the project was ever officially released, except for a brief promotional video that was shown at a convention in 2008.

Gatchaman was based on the series that many of us in the Gen X generation grew up with, also known as Battle of the Planets. It was intended to be our follow-up to the 2007 TMNT movie. Unfortunately, studio politics and unforeseen circumstances delayed the project, and it was ultimately canceled when IMAGI folded after the release of Astro Boy.

Some projects simply aren’t meant to be. Nevertheless, I am genuinely proud of what the team was able to achieve within the time we had. It’s difficult not to wonder what might have been if circumstances had been different.
